Győr University Ice Sports Centre: Győr Ice Arena Named After SZE
As of now the city's ice arena will be known as the Győr University Ice Sports Centre, symbolising the strong connection between ice hockey and SZE. The new signage will be installed on the facade of the facility in the coming days, which serves as a venue for ice dance, curling, and ice skating, including school and public skating.

SZE Becomes First European HEI to Conduct Drone Operations Under Its Own Authority
Széchenyi István University has been granted a Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), making it the first higher education institution in Europe to obtain the highest level of authorization available under the European drone regulations introduced in 2021.
March 15: Several staff members and partners of SZE awarded high state honours
Professor Dr István Stumpf, a constitutional lawyer, university professor at Széchenyi István University, former Constitutional Court judge, and Minister of the Chancellery, was awarded the Széchenyi Prize in recognition of his exceptionally valuable scientific career for Hungary, his outstanding research in political science—particularly in the analysis of the state order and constitutional state—his extensive and significant publication activities and his dedicated and successful contributions to education and public life.
Digital Child Protection: American Professor Delivers Lecture at SZE International Law Seminar
Professor Joseph Squillace from the Schuylkill campus of Pennsylvania State University was among the speakers at the international short study programme organised by the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Széchenyi István University. The one-week professional workshop focused on digital child protection and welcomed 19 Hungarian and American students.
